The restaurant’s interior is styled after the era of the characters in Bulgakov’s novel: the first floor is Prof. Preobrazhensky’s dining room, the mezzanine is a library and operating room, and the VIP room is the professor’s office; the lower floor is Sharikov’s favorite tavern, “Stop Signal.” Dinner in the stylized “Kharkiv-Paris” railway carriage recalls the history of the bourgeois intelligentsia traveling to Paris. Your mood will tell you where it is best to sit, while numerous antiques purchased at flea markets will help immerse you in the atmosphere of a bygone era. The summer terrace represents a gostiny dvor – a shopping arcade from the early 20th century.

The cuisine – “folk-noble,” for comrades and gentlemen — offers a completely new take on traditional cuisine: dishes beloved by all served in an unconventional, original style (Olivier salad, herring under a fur coat and forshmak are served alongside pike caviar, trout with a crispy crust and old-professor-style solyanka in a bread pot). The restaurant also serves house-made kvass and fruit drinks; its substantial wine list contains more than one hundred selections, from inexpensive to exceptional, from various countries and regions.
