Strilka Square is located at the confluence of two Kharkiv rivers — the Lopan and the Kharkiv. Viewed from above, the confluence itself resembles the pointed end of a simple arrow shape, which apparently gave this place, and later the square, its name. There is also a legend that the city of Kharkiv began to be built from this very spot.
Not far from where the Kharkiv River flows into the Lopan stands a suspension bridge, formerly called the Fishermen’s Bridge and now often referred to as the Lovers’ Bridge. Here, newlyweds leave padlocks as a symbol of their new family and a strong future, and take beautiful wedding photos. According to local belief, crossing the bridge hand in hand with a loved one will strengthen or create a long-lasting relationship. Perhaps this belief is rooted precisely in the confluence of the two rivers.
After its renovation, the square came alive with bright summer flower beds arranged in the shade of the trees. Ornate benches, a children’s playground, small cafés and the river’s mirror-like surface create a cosy atmosphere both for evening strolls and daytime walks amid the bustling city. Walking along the embankment, you will see the circus building on the opposite side, greeting you with its unusual shape, while near the Lopanskyi Bridge there is a view of Poltavskyi Shliakh Street, formerly Katerynoslavska Street; a little farther beyond the bridge, the Annunciation Cathedral shines in the evening lights. From the embankment, you can see buildings of modern architecture and the domes of the Pokrovskyi Monastery and the Dormition Cathedral. The illumination of the suspension bridge echoes the colourful lights of the evening city.
A boat ride along the river in the warm daytime sunshine or in the evening will add romance to a first date or become a pleasant highlight of a summer walk. Two boat stations operate in Strilka Square: Lastivka near the Lopanskyi Bridge and Strilka near the suspension bridge.

Приємно, коли очікування збігаються з реальністю. Ціни адекватні для такого рівня. Персонал ввічливий і відповідає по суті, без «це не до нас». Чисто, доглянуто, видно, що за місцем стежать. За свої гроші — чудово.
