Shota Rustaveli Park was built with funds from the Georgian diaspora of Ukraine, the Foundation of the President of Georgia and the Kyiv City Administration. All the work was carried out by Georgian sculptors. The project’s author and sculptor is Volodymyr Imerlishvili; the sculptor is Paata Gigauri; the architect is David Yakoboshvili. It was solemnly opened on 8 June 2007 by the Presidents of Ukraine and Georgia, Viktor Yushchenko and Mikheil Saakashvili.
