The Mechnikov Square owes its existence to the second boundary of the free-port zone. In the 1820s, duty-free Odesa was separated from the rest of the Russian Empire by two parallel ditches extending from Peresyp to Karantyn. The ditches were two metres deep and three metres wide. Between them was a “grey” zone 15 sazhens wide (almost 35 metres). The ditches were meant to stop smugglers, but they were not very effective. Resourceful Odesa residents used the catacombs to transport goods.

Заходили в начале лета, впечатления хорошие. С парковкой проблем не было. Претензий нет.
