Heydar Aliyev Square is striking in its beauty. Its unusual architectural design, a fountain flowing down a wall, neat benches and many different plants all set it apart from ordinary Kyiv parks. The centerpiece of the park display is a large fountain-waterfall designed in the shape of a cascading oriental carpet, symbolizing the multifaceted nature of culture and prosperity. Behind it is a replica of the wall of the Baku Fortress, giving this interesting structure a very impressive appearance. The oriental carpet, made of Murano glass and ceramics, is the only life-size copy in the world of the famous Sheikh Safi carpet, the eighth wonder of the world.
